Yes, David, it is indeed easier to run against something than to come up with a positive agenda. This has been a constant of American politics for both parties for a VERY long time, but people seem to put up with it. It is interesting to see local and state politicians running against policies over which they have little or no direct influence, but that is how the game is played.
Loffelkopffl, I have also wondered why our HI5 program does not extend to anything 2 liters or over. With our garbage crisis on the BI (and elsewhere in Hawaii,) it makes sense to extend it much farther. Also, I have always questioned why liquor bottles are not included. The way folks drink around my neighborhood, I think we are missing another major recycling opportunity.
