Local Politics, oh my!

quote:
Aloha Kapohocat,

Right on Kat, again you very much hit it on the head, you are very astute Smile)
You get to the heart of the matter and succintly give us a balanced view point.
Since we aren't able to get perfection, Linda Lingle has made a difference.
Isn't that a bonus to look at what really has happened to benefit Hawaii?

She also put the bill through with regards to being able to bring your pets into Hawaii without a pet having to spend three months or 30 days in a quarantine station, and made those changes possible. That was a very big deal that cost people much money and unessary stress and grief every day in Haawaii. She was the one who listened when the others (especially those in charge in the USDA quarantine station) would not for years on this subject when it was very relevant for many families and their beloved pets. It came out that the person in charge was not keeping up with new medical advances to serve their own self interest, not of the customers or pets that are served. I worked on that campaign for it to happen and it took lots of individual professionals who gave of their time gratus, lots of persistance, time and money to make that happen.

When you all are done talking about this and want a bit of relaxation you might want to take in a clip of some yesterday music of Hawaii here. Hawaii Five-O

It would be so much better with the palm trees and Jack Lord, but it does bring back the memories and reminese about a time of
being more care free in Hawaii.

Aloha all!
Lucy

Having another Great day in Paradise, Wherever that Maybe!

I think you give Lingle to much credit! Actually most of the people do for that matter too...except for Maui residents who lived on Maui while she was Mayor. She left that place in a mess!

As for thw Quarantine issue, that was being worked on years before she came into office!

As Gov. Of the state I think she is responsible for the Dam accident on Kauai. Her and the head of the DLNR should have both lost their jobs after that accident happened. Let me also put in Mufi Hanneman's name too. Once he opted to dump raw sewage into the Ala Wai without proper warnings being posted, and local folks started complaining of illness from swimming and getting open sores.
