I have what I thought was a nasty, thorny weed on my property is actually raspberries. Must be from bird droppings.aloha..... Any wild raspberry family plant on your property below 3,000' elevation/Glenwood WILL BE a nasty thorny WEED! ie Mauritius Raspberry, Himalayan raspberry, Florida Blackberry, etc.
the only raspberry that isn't a weed or invasive with thorns etc. is the endemic thornless Akala

apps are lazy.. you dont learn from them.... better to just learn the characteristics of the families of plants..... then its easy to get real close, if not the exact species with one set of books...
get some Hawaii plant library books ... ie the big white ones (2 vol set) MANUAL OF THE FLOWERING PLANTS OF HAWAII
has 95% of all the many thousands of plants found in Hawaii listed (mostly non-native because thats whats here)... the only reason its not higher % is because the book is 25+ yrs old now... and many more invasive species have made it here..
PS. to anyone at Kalani Retreat.. you clowns stole my set of MANUAL OF THE FLOWERING PLANTS OF HAWAII.. thats $120 you stole from me
by not returning books I loaned your so called 'garden dude' 4 yrs ago (haole guy w/ beard about 45-50 yrs old now).. and playing stupid when Ive ask in person at front desk since.... (4 times Ive asked and left my number) shame! or at least let me go look for them myself up at your so called nursery...
