My galfriend added me to her Amazon Prime membership years ago.
She joins and buys everything like that automatically, without thought, and adds me to them.
To be honest, I rarely ever, join such groups on my own.
At the current prices of $13/mo, or $120/yr, I would never buy it.
I just never buy often enough or in quantities enough to make it worthwhile.
But, because it's a freebie, when making purchases I do use it fairly regular.
I never use the Prime extras or other so-called benefits.
I see them as nothing more than Amazon trying to wheedle you into buying more from them to bring their bottom line up.
I did purchase an Amazon Paperwhite reader.
The only Amazon product I've ever acquired, because of its relative cheap price.
I became very unhappy with it because of the control Amazon retained over it, their interference with my use of my reader as I wanted to.
They require you to add Bluetooth in order to be able to use it.
That gives them access to it anytime they want to make updates, additions, deletions, etc without your consent or knowledge.
I threw it out and bought another brand.
It's more expensive but is under my control, as all my property should be.
Lately, they do seem to becoming more problematical.
For my needs, even as a freebie they seem to be getting close to needing looking into and assessing.
One thing I've noticed in the last 20 years is that things start out low priced online.
Then with time, their prices start climbing becoming less of a better buy.
Many times becoming more expensive with many more complications than buying locally.
