I have no idea what Tulsi's future will be. She's certainly not a Republican. She is definitely a maverick of some sort and doesn't fit in either major party. The closest parallels I can think of would be a Bernie Sanders or a Ron Paul. Not that her views match theirs but her status as a maverick is similar to those, but perhaps even a little more maverick to either party.
She could never get elected to anything as a real republican. It would have to be a situation where her draw as an independent drew from both parties. It seems many of her views are contrary to the mainstream of both parties. However, I think it's good to have a few mavericks around. I could have never voted for Ron Paul but I was very glad his voice was there to be heard, most times, but also glad he wasn't my senator.
I think Tulsi's future is more as a talking head on cable news. Personally I think y'all should elect her to something so her maverick voice will still be heard, but I won't vote for her.
