Perhaps it would be a good time for some slow growth punatics to take a lead with Emily's efforts to do something for the families that are in need of affordable housing, directed especially at those that are of Hawaiian ancestry. By showing strong support for the issue that is dear to her, she might be won over as a strong advocate of the goals of those who advocate slow or tightly controlled growth and environmental and ecological protection. I don’t see any reason the two issues can't be complimentary.
