Puna Storage Facility "NOT"
#5
A lot of us who opposed the 130 rezoning are not necessarily opposed to a storage facility per se. It was the apparent effort to circumvent the community development planning process and the existing General Plan that upset many. I personally think a well-designed storage facility at a location chosen as part of a comprehensive zoning plan could be a good thing for Puna.

Yes, a lot more needs to be done about affordable housing for ALL long-term Puna residents. Making efforts Hawaiian-centered might make Emily Naeole and some others happy, but would be unfair. Reform of the Hawaiian Homelands programs might be a better way to help Native Hawaiians, who have to wait a lifetime in some cases for help getting into homes on ancestral lands.

Just my opinion.

Cheers,
Jerry
