Yes, and if any of them were spoken to like how haole boy talked to me, they would probably take that approach. If not they would just be doing a diservice to our culture. Haole boy is being nice now so I'm glad but I'm willing to stand up for my culture in any way shape or form. Anytime, anywhere, anyday... and their are also Hawaiians who are way meaner than I am. Some of them are my good friends and I cringe when I hear them yell out the window,"go home to your own country" and they have so if you think I'm preachy and a racist then I am proud of that. I don't go to church other than the forest in my yard in Puna and Kona so I'm making up for it on the web. It is all in the way you see it, if you open your heart, maybe you might catch a glimpse of what I am trying to tell these people and then you will understand.
You are totally wrong if you think I have a chip on my shoulder. Now, I could talk to you all day and I'm sure you won't understand where I am coming from so take it the way you want. I said it before and I will say it again, I will defend my culture always. and if you don't like it there is nothing you can do about it.
Hawaiians were new comers here and no one but maybe the menehune were here and they mixed together and respected each other until the Tahitians came and they duked it out and eventually got along and meshed together. You guys need to loosen up and get over yourselves so you can get educated. Maybe it's people like you who cause Hawaiians to have a chip on their shoulders. Have you ever thought of that?
and by the way, I have walked the side of the road in Captain Cook at 5:00 a.m. on Christmas morning with my kids and husband and non hawaiians picking up the rubbish so there, we are walking side by side. I've also seen non hawaiians throwing the rubbish on the side of the road too.
It "is" a joy to share about my culture that is why I take the time out of my precious days to post on this web.
