My experience is that the Dish signal can be lost during rainstorms, sometimes even when the storms seem weak. This happened where we stayed in HPP and up in Volcano, as well. It never happened during our 8 years on a ridgetop in CA where we had lots of rainstorms. I wonder if the lower satellite angle has something to do with it? That said, our Dish service on-island has been okay.
How is the TWC service? Does anyone get their HD package? Is it worth the cost of the HD reciever and extra monthly charges? I've seen the standard cable in Honolulu and I'm not impressed. I've gotten too accustomed to the Dish program guide; I don't like the bare bones guide on cable. Is there a higher level of programming guide?
