Nanawale Question
#6
I've lived in Nanawale since 1979 and have been attending board meetings religiously since I retired last fall with the aim of volunteering in my community.

FedEx and UPS both deliver to Nanawale. As for USPS, not only is there a long waiting list for post office boxes in Nanawale, but no more are going to be built, according to the current board of directors.

The only direct USPS mail delivery in Nanawale beyond the boxes located outside the community assoc. bldg. is for those lots located directly on Nanawale Blvd. The post office sent us info about 8 or 10 years ago inviting those of us on Nanawale Blvd. to put up our own mailboxes. I have always maintained a P.O. box at the Pahoa post office because I didn't want to "lose" my mail. I consider it a worthwhile investment, especially lately as a lot of mail gets stolen. The delivery person for Nanawale was recently convicted of stealing mail, and he gets to come back to his job in 6 months!

Re: the county water lines only go down Nanawale Blvd. and there is a moritorium on putting in more water lines. I don't know why. Most people in Nanawale are on water catchment. We do get lots of rain so it's seldom a problem. Hope this helps.
