I don’t have as much faith in Kim or his administration as do you, dakine.
I think it’s a bit irresponsible to wait over a month to hold your first briefing
on this event, no matter the out come of the eruption. Let the people know what’s going on! It also took them a month to get a Webster functioning with detailed information. The only way those of us who live out here could be informed of the proximity of the flow in relation to Pahoa was a very detailed map made by a fellow Puna Webber, not the local government.
I think he should have addressed this event much earlier and let everyone know that the situation is and give us weekly updates.
His administration has taken no action on a second evacuation route out of lower Puna.
What’s his plan? Maybe to follow a D-10 Bulldozer down Railroad Ave as the lava crosses Hwy 130?
I know our real estate taxes are low but it’s the government’s obligation to protect life and property.
