Ayuh, Dave when we moved we drove to San Francisco shipped the vehicle from oakland and flew the dog on Hawaiian Air. It was before the new release program so he had to stay in HNL. We walked over to the quarantine station to be sure he arrived ok. Very sad leaving him behind. He has everything ready this time for the early release. I would bypass HNL and fly to Kona. HA has a lot more flights from west coast directly to Kona.I had trouble getting a large crate ended up at Pet Quarters to find the right size crate. I do know HA has size restrictions for wt. to be on the same flight as you but you could check with them, I think we paid $90 for him.I know I will fly directly to Kona to avoid the hassle at HNL> very good idea to rent the van though. Remember you are going to arrive long before the vehicles do. We are getting closer Dave cant wait
