When I was living in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia (Coldest capital city in the world) having a home in Hawaii seemed like a real high priority. But, last November I moved to Indonesia. Now that I'm living on one tropical island, the urgency of having a home on another has dimished some what.
I live in Jakarta, one of the most pollutted and traffic chocked cities in the world, but I live in a great apartment complex with a 50 meter pool, great gym and lots of gardens. I get to Bali and the more remote island as often as I can. I just bought a 4 meter "totem pole" made by the Komoro People of Papua, specifically thinking of how great it would look in front of my (yet to be) Hawaii house.
I'm licenced to practice law in California, Illinois and New York, but I'm on inactive status in each. For me, being a lawyer is a state of mind (something my boyfriends, past and present would agree with and complain about ;^).
I looked at the Yellow house and the others for sale in Puna Beach Palisaides. I am thinking of selling or trading my two lots for an already built house, given the difficulties of building while living so far away. Maybe the best time to buy is while the hypothetical threat of lava inundation looms. Maybe not.
Aloha,
Rob L
