Yesterday, 9/28 - Michael and I went fishing again. We just had to do it to overcome the fear. After talking with my Mom and her telling me that I should put flowers on the Heiau (Hawaiian gravesite) that I had to step on to get the cell service to work, I did it.(Don't tell my Mom I fished) It felt really good offering the Ho'okupu (offering). When your in this kind of situation, not only Mark that got swept into the ocean faces the aftermath, everyone also has some kind of mental distress. So with that said, I agreed to go with my friend Michael to fish. It was a rough time for both of us overcoming that fear. It was some work. People must think we were nuts. The fact is, we are fishermens at heart and this is the way we live and have been all of our lives. We caught lots and offered some to the Gods. Later that day, we sat there and said our prayers of thanks. We were blessed with a light soothing misty rain, the sun and a double rainbow. It confirmed it, we were all blessed. And to mention also, the Ho'okupu brought by Mark and Richard that was sitting there at the fishing spot just summed it up....They both had the same idea. I honor them both for being brave and having the feeling to honor the ocean and the higher power.
I thank all of you that wrote in response to this wonderful story with the most happiest ending. I thank all whom praised myself. I just want you all to know I appreciate all the comments and loving words. No awards needed other than the everlasting friendship that I have with these boys.
I am greatful for Ke Akua for all that he has blessed and given me. And with that said,
"Here fishy fishy" lol
Aloha
