Driveway in building plans?

What some have done is just do a "driveway apron" (in fact as John Rabi can attest to - Leilani requires a driveway apron).

Cat, you would be surprised, but most people (including real estate agents!) don't even know that Leilani Avenue is a County road. The LE CC&Rs require a 12X10 concrete or asphalt apron. Lots accessed from Leilani Avenue have to conform to the County specifications.
I have to be honest, I didn't even know about this until my GC started to make the driveway at my house there and, low and behold, the County Building Inspector drove by! He red-flagged us right away and I had to get the permit for the driveway. It was easy from there on, in fact, they didn't even come out to check it as far as I know.
