Netiquette and online civility
#31
OK, the consensus is pretty obvious: a request for people to be a little nicer is considered "whining" and unreasonable. Now that you've made yourselves clear, I'll just step away from Punaweb until some of you "humorists" get flushed out by the passage of time, and a group of people who don't view a request to try to be nice as a personal insult become the norm in this community again.

I've noticed that there is an almost complete changeover in posters about every 2 years (coincidentally the average length of stay of someone who moves here from the mainland) so I just have to be patient. It's kind of like when I lived in a college town and my favorite mellow blue collar bar got taken over by rowdy frat boys. Within 2 years they all flunked out or graduated and we got our bar back. Although not until Gertie the waitress had to dump a pitcher of Strohs over the head of one ***hole for outrageous rudeness. We gave her a standing ovation and then tossed the whole table out on their ears.

Every time you feel yourself getting pulled into other people's nonsense, repeat these words: Not my circus, not my monkeys.
