This company seems to be into tapping gas from landfills. All understanding I have is that the South Hilo Landfill is not suited to mining -- it is unlined.
More basically, the material that would make gas in a landfill are the 'organics' -- paper, food, some wood, and green stuff. All of this is readily compostable, or converted into methan and then compost. There is no purpose in putting organics in the landfill to start with.
