"All use is medicinal"...Dennis Peron
Cannabis use has been central, as a sacrament, in many of the world's religions, (including Christianity and Judaism according to biblical scholars who began noticing this in the 1920's) and has been so since the beginning of human history.
The holy oil appears to contain nine pounds of cannabis, (caneh bosem or canna bahn as it's referred to in the Bible), in the recipe.
So, the compounds and chemicals in cannabis mirror those produced by our bodies and posses preventative, curative, palliative and significant life extending properties. Social and religious use are historically normal for humans.
We should express a little humility before casting dispersions against others, especially when it comes to huge issues such as this issue one that is clearly, very poorly understood by the general public, imho.
Aloha!
