I havent seen any test or "requirement" list for pulling an owner builder permit other than mentioned for plumbing and electric.
I will incite a riot I am sure but there are times I think there should be some real requirements after seeing some total messes people have made of framing their own houses never having built before. Drywall is another one that I always tell people to have a professional do it unless you are patient and detail oriented (anal retentive is a positive quality for drywalling).
If you are an OB and just all the hiring subs, that is a different animal.
