Paying at the pump is not a good idea for us!!...unless there is a rebate for it IF you carry your own insurance.
SB used about $250 a week in gas. Not because he drives all that much but because the vehicle he needs to pick up materials in does not get the gas mileage that a small sub compact gets. Why should we be penalized? And not to stereo type but small cars seem to think more they can pull out and make that small opening (and we know they dont as seen on Hwy 130 all too often). SB has to be careful and pull out in a large opening because of the size and the weight carried.
We pay insurance and besides if the truck got in an accident, the damage would be considerably less (I hope) than the damage to the subcompact.
As for the assumption - to be able to make a comparison you have to make certain assumptions so that it is a comparable value which is why stats can be skewed to fit the need.
