You are essentially asking someone to take on the job of full-time editor. That's a huge task, unpaid, for someone to do just to potentially make it easier for someone else to use the information.
Punaweb is an online forum and community, not Punapedia. Its too easy for someone "editing" to allow their own opinion to influence the end result. You mentioned that the "majority opinion" would govern what summarized information would be posted -- to which I ask, a "majority" of who? Those who have an interest and choose to vote or all of Punaweb? In any self-selected poll (those who choose to participate), bias and unobjective opinions are the rule, not the exception. Personally, I'd rather see the unedited (and relatively uncensored) variety of opinions.
If someone has a personal need or interest in the information, I think it should be up to them to spend the time to read through whatever the Punawebbers choose to post rather than asking someone else to do the work for them for free.
Punaweb doesn't "owe" anyone anything (well, except Rob for creating it and all he seems to ask for is that we respect him and each other).
If someone doesn't want to take the time to learn from an unedited free-flowing discussion, they're not really interested. What they really want is someone else to make the decision for them -- that way they can blame Punaweb when they make a mistake, rather than owning up to "there was a diversity of opinions, I read them and I chose X. X turned out to be wrong, but it wasn't because someone else chose to edit the topic to favor X."
Editing is NEVER completely unbiased. And a "majority opinion" and "truth" sometimes visit each other, but they are not married or even living together.
