You are lucky. The tax assessment on our lot in HPP went down $3,300, but the assessment on the house on the lot went UP $49,800, for a net INCREASE of $46,500 (=67%!!!). I am really glad I filed the paperwork for an affordable rental for the next 2-3 years until I retire and can get the homeowner exemption.
