neem and tea tree oil
#4
I've been wanting to post on this for awhile but keep forgetting. For the last year a half I have been fighting the Japanese Rose Beetles. The ones that only fly at night. I've tried everything, going out at night with a flashlight and picking them off, spraying neem oil soap on the leaves. Everything but pesticides, which I don't use. I read Barbara Fah's Book, "Super Simple Guide to Creating Hawaiian Gardens", and she mentioned sprinkling neem cake fertilizer around the plant. I bought some at the Farm Supply Coop about 6 weeks ago, and WOW, dramatic changes. My cherry, peach, grape, and rose bushes before had no leaves left, now they are full of leaves with no signs of leaf holes at all. They have never looked so healthy. I'm sold!! It's systemic, which means the plant takes it up in it's roots and I guess the leaves now taste gross to bugs.
