Damons new here... He does not know about the previous discussions had here on Punaweb that were all deleted.

Remember back when you were announcing your new school opening, looking for people to help finish getting the homes ready for students?

Didnt many people come forward asking questions about enrollment? While others were shocked and very upset the school was renting homes in HPP to use as classrooms and didnt inform anyone at the HPP office.. or for that matter the people who own property around the area the houses were located?

Wasnt there some sort of legal action to make the school stop saying that they were using the Waldorf curriculum and had Waldorf certified Teachers?? Not trying to start trouble here, just asking questions.

I wish you folks the best of luck, I really Do!

In my opinion, You blamed Waldorf then. Just as you are now...
Trying to make us believe that Malama Waldorf was behind all your troubles... and thats just not right IMHO....

Since the owners are going to court the "complaint" is part of the file, its from MWS (K.C.) with parts from there lawyers "Rosenberg,Katz"

There is also a member on the CSRP Nina Buchnan who will tell you if you ask her that "My colleagues from the MWS have checked out your school and feel your doing a disservice to the children of Puna and my recommendation would be to revoke the WOL charter"

These are things you can check out if you care to. Sorry.
WOL has always had troubles EVERYBODY knows that, but MWS is making lots of additional trouble despite what they may tell you it would be nice if they stopped.
Like I said MWS is a asset to our community I would not want to ever see them have problems it just trickles down to the kids.

There was NEVER any legal action about using the word WALDORF just a letter from Rosenberg and KATZ. But I did see that MWS had to stop using the word because they lost there accreditation even had to remove it from there sign. But I know they are working hard to get it back.I would suspect that is part of the reason why they were upset many of the Waldorf certified teachers left, its not illegal to say a teacher is Waldorf certified if they are.

The neighbors at all the schools were generally very supportive and not one complaint to the county came from them so I'm not sure where you got that from. The HPP hui is VERY supportive of schools in the park One of the board members even does some of the maintenance on the properties, try asking for yourself.

The school is not going to go away its just needed too badly and to many people care deeply about it,we may have lots of grief and turmoil but we will be around, MWS needs get get used to that, the few children that actually came from there will not be returning.
The only people expressing shock were obviously from MWS where are they now.
Most of us in our community that are familiar with our charter schools realize that a residential house that may not be a commercial structure is still way better than some of the alternatives. As soon as people start screaming health and safety its all over.
Like I said it was MWS, I really don't know why you want to dredge it all up again MWS got there way, no other elementary schools in the park the schools in the park are pau.

Sorry for your experience Greta the CS admin illegally capped our enrollment but that has been rectified. There are openings except for 1st grade. But like I said $ is too tight to advertise and you can see what happens when we try to do it for free,we did have a fair at the HPP hui to let the community know we are here,But it does seem like you found out about it.
I'd say its a good mix of students from DOE schools and kids who were homeschooled and MWS.I think most are from the DOE you can call the office they may have that stat. Hope it works out for you please know that I've been on every waiting list for every charter school in the area for 4 years now still have not been called.
