aloha all!
i haven't written in a while as i have been away. it has been nice to see the aloha spirit alive and well on the punaweb. i had introduced myself when this thread first started, but thought it might be nice to just say aloha. i am living and working in shanghai, china right now. i will be here the remainder of this year, and then am headed straight for hawai'i, for good! some of you may recall i was an artist (www.holahangallery.com).
well, if anyone is interested, china is amazing. the people, culture and FOOD are unbelievable. i needed to leave the mainland and a great opportunity (and beautiful woman!) came up in china before hawai'i, so i decided to take it. hawai'i will always be there for me, and soon! at any rate, china is very different than the mainland, but alot of things here remind me of hawai'i. even though i'm in the biggest city in the country, i never feel unsafe, and am amazed at how much tolerance and peace there is. a form of "aloha" you might say. people's lives are simple and most seem content and happy. i've seen things i will never forget, and i think the experience is exactly what i needed before heading back to the aina for good. alot of peace...
well, hope all is well on the orchid isle, and i'll keep folks posted. hoping to be set-up on my spot in HPP at the end of the year.
take care and enjoy the aloha...
