it was lifted before i moved in, i was saying it was a nice way to go compared to adding on to the side or top. we have a 1/2 daylight basement builted up w/ cinder blocks and 2x6. the concrete was brought in by a wheelbarrel. eight footwalls w/ a drop ceiling. two to four guys could do the job i would think.
jacking up the home shouldnt be hard. it had a four foot crawl space already. put support blocks inside and lay your blocks and 2x6 outside. jack it down and there you go.
i wouldnt live in it while jacked up but i guess you could. if it had blocks and beams it could be done! but i wouldnt risk it.
