It is a good idea to have a couple of different varieties, esp ones that flower/fruit early & late, that way you can have a long season. One mature citrus here can supply more citrus than you can use, but most have a peak season when most of the fruit ripens, good to trade at the farmers market, give to friends & people you don't know, do squish experiments & such (OK, maybe most will forgo the experiments....but they are fun!)
We have 3 citrus on our yard & neighbor has 6 more... during Nov & dec we are floating in citruses....have planted some a couple of spring fruiting citrus & am trying to find a Meyers Lime (summer fruit) The best idea is to try to get year round fruits so you don't have to process any.
