Hawaiian Air charging more for Hilo/Kona travelers

Makes perfect logical sense. If they don't raise fares, they will go the way of Aloha, ATA and all the others. Facts are facts, fuel prices have gone up and up, and the airlines need to charge that increase to the passengers. If it makes things easier to swallow, mainland airfares, short and long distances, are also going up.
