Hawaiian Air charging more for Hilo/Kona travelers

Nobody's income is keeping up with the price of fuel. Which makes me wonder what higher airline prices and reduced flights are doing to the vacation rental business in Puna. The resorts on the Kona side cater to a high end clientel and may be less affected, but I worry that vacation rentals on which a lot of people depend may be hurt as fewer people can afford to get to the Big Island.

Any feedback from people with rentals?
