PEX pipe

Bob; I would agree on the polybutyl pipe problems, but PEX has been used in europe for almost 20 yrs, and has been used here for about 15 for the wirsbo radiant heat applications. Copper also has problems with respect to water acidity and velocity of flow. My concern is to reduce construction cost and was rather surprized to have so much trouble finding plumbers there who are familiar with it and willing to use it. I'm in contact a couple of plumbers now who work with it and will see what the relative cost comparisons work out to be. One of my concerns with PEX is its limited permiability and use in contact with Termite treated soils and HI-Bor treated wood, which is one of the reasons I wanted to talk to a plumber who has used it there.
