Has anyone successfully grown spinach?

I grow spinach in HPP way down on E. I tried to grow it with hydroponics first but that don't work very well only 10/15% grew. I grow it in 1/2 55 gal. drum with holes in the bottom. I use both hydroponics and drums to grow. I grow every thing beans, carrots, cucumber, garlic, lettuce, onions, peas, peppers, spinach and squash and I any about to try celery, corn and melons.
