Have you tried Northwest Airlines? My brother in law is moving over around the 1st of August with two dogs also. He is coming from Seattle on NORTHWEST to Honolulu (Two dogs are pemitted). From there he is putting his dogs (Golden Retrievers) on Aloha Air Cargo and he is going on Hawaiian to Hilo. He is also using an animal handler in Honolulu for $175.00 that will help him pick up the dogs at the AG dept and transport them to where they need to go for their interisland flight. On your 'Dog and Cat Import Form' you'll put in the handler's name so that they can be picked up. Apparently, these handlers are well known by the AG Department and recommend them. Contact Jackie and Winston Kapau (808) 488-3854 (one dog is $100.00 if anyone else is interested). Hope this helps! []

Aloha... I've been doing the research. I've even called Hawaii directly for the information. Everything is set for direct release for me and my 2 lahsa's. The biggest problem I'm having is the airlines and their procedures. So far, only one dog per passenger. I'm the only one coming. The other problem is that if the temps in the departure city is 85+ no go, if the dogs are in with the baggage. I'd like to put them under the seat with me. I'll have to find a passenger to fly over with to take one of the dogs. I'm coming from Detroit(DTW)and would like to fly directly into Kona. IF ANYONE, knows which airlines are the best for this please email me. Anytime after July 22, is when I'm planning on leaving Michigan.
