Maybe you should ask whoever does your taxes. Even if they're in Calif, they can look this up for you.
Just a thought...
And here's another one:
If you do your own taxes, like we do, then read that form carefully. You need to have some income from Hawaii to report to send it in. Maybe print out the form and try filling it in and see what your bottom line would be. Follow the instructions to the letter 'cause you know that's how they'll look at it.
