If drilling were to be allowed everywhere tomorrow, the futures price would drive down the current price of oil overnight. Even if there were a reduction in available stocks.

If Israel attacked Iran, prices would double over night due to speculation of uncertain supply.
Even if there were a raise in available stocks.

If it were announced that the U.S. was going to build 20 nuclear plants, natural gas and coal futures would drop with in an hour of the announcement.

That’s the way it works

Just a few years ago gasoline was $1.00/ gal , remember that 40 cents of that was tax.
