Just a friendly reminder to all that when comparing auto insurance, please make sure you are comparing apples to apples. The quote should be on the exact same coverage and policy features. If one company is lower, make sure the coverage is the same as the higher company. Generally when I see lower quotes it is often based on lower coverage. I will go back to the higher company and ask them to quote on the lower coverage. Sometimes they are still more; other times they may be less.
Second thing; make sure you are always contacting your state insurance department to get the latest complaint rankings. It does you no good to have a low price policy if you will never see a penny of that money when claim time rolls around. Example, a quick check of Hawaii showed the company with the highest complaint ratio for 2007 was Liberty Mutual.
So investigate the policy and company completely before switching.
