Something that really bothers me!
#16
I wonder how many of you have had the responsibility of watching a toddler at an airport? Is it better to immobilize the child in a stroller and not allow him to move around? Its physically hard to carry a squirmy child and leaning down to hold his hand is not always comfortable either.

Having a safety line hooked to the child so he can have freedom to move and yet be safe is not maltreatment, it is practical AND responsible.

If you have issues with leashes then you may be letting emotional connections rule your brain instead of thinking about it in a rational and practical manner.

If you think about it with your head and not your emotions, you hopefully will realize that safety lines are as functional for an active child in a public place as a mountain climber who is tethered to his group on a mountain or a tree climber who attachs himself to a tree in case he should slip.

I say, "kudos" to the parent you saw in the airport who put his child's safety and welfare in front of public opinion.
