"Bless the beasts & the children".
Wondering if shock collars are effective at keeping dogs in one area?
Theory is they get to the edge of the property & the sensor sends out a shock.
Used to work for a man who had an electric fence to keep the dogs in, they never did leave the yard.
Had a friend in the Puna area that had a really good looking rautweiler. Dog was a ***** cat once you got to know it. Then some of his other livestock started being killed at night, come to find out his own dog was doing it. Then to top it all off the dog ran out onto the road one day, car killed it.
Getting back to Tom's original post. Yes, get a guard dog but there's allot of liability & training & supervision that goes with it, almost the same responsibility of having children.
