best dehumidifiers? What kind? Where?

We bought 2 from Sears 5 years ago. The power buttons broke after about a year (we have to use the plug to turn them on/off). Otherwise, they've been humming away in the basement.

A window A/C unit might also do the trick without introducing heat into your space. Just keep the temp setting at 'room' to avoid cooling.
