I underplanted my coffee with edible peanut about 7 weeks ago. THey're in a cinder soil mix. I'll let you know how it works. I'm going to try another batch in a sunnier spot too. The coffee is under 70% shade cloth & it may be too dark for the peanuts to produce.
One thing I do know for sure. I planted 20 peanuts right in the ground & sprouted 15 in the kitchen. The sprouted plants went into small dixie cups for a week, then were planted. The sprouted plants are strong and vigorous. The direct sown nuts, most didn't come up & those that did look wimpy next to their sprouted bretheren.
