The county has a few "real" bus stops on the HeleOn Routes
As to why there are not more official bus stops... they cost MONEY!
Add the fact that the school bus stops that are in place in Puna do get a lot more "wear & TEAR".... unless there is a very dedicated neighborhood group that oversees the installations.... & I think you can see why the county is not racing to get these in for the free service
(at times I feel that I must be one of only a few on Punaweb that has actually uses the bus service on a fairly regular basis & more than a couple of routes. One of the reasons we live where we do is that there was bus service nearby when we bought... anyone who moved into a place in the 1/2 decade could have made a decision... live near a bus stop or not, if that was a concern in where you wanted to live....)
