Honolulu Freight did right by us too. Highly recommended. One way to easily 'crate' items is to buy the big metal toolboxes (a Job Box) that you see on construction sites. You might hear them called by their manufactures name too: Knack, Greenlee, Ridgid. They lock shut, are pre-built so to speak & you have secure tool storage when you get to Puna. A guy dropped off 3 to Honolulu Freight the same day we were there...it was a "OH DUH, why didn't we think of that!" moment for sure. Next time I ship, I'm using a Job Box. You can usually find them used on Craigslist on the mainland, just be sure to search by the manufacturer name, not just 'Job Box'.
