Architects and builders usually work together and recommend each other. Do your own research, look at homes he built before and talk to those owners. Have an attorney look at his building contract. Check out the licensing and complaint history at http://www.hawaii.gov/dcca/quicklinks/on...ess_online before you commit yourself. Having a house built is not like buying bread at the supermarket.
