Well just be careful what you wish for because the internet brings a whole new set of problems for your Puna kids.

Be aware that everything you post on the internet is out there almost forever. Explains why most of us don't post our real names here and limit the amount of personal information we give out. So your kids photo who attends an elementary school in Hilo could end up almost anywhere on the internet on almost any site not related to Puna (lots of nasty people trolling the internet these days).

So yes asking the parent's permission to post their kids pics is a good idea. Sounds like a pain but I vote for that.
For the same reason you should monitor your teenagers myspace pics cause at this point there's no way to lock those pics either from being copied (password to myspace accounts are stollen everyday).

Do you think there are more "nasty's" trolling the internet then there are in real life?

It's thought processes like this that I believe really take away from our kids learning curve.

I post my sons picture all over the internet. I use my real name for everything.

Stand by what you write... don't BS... Speak from your heart... And you won't need to hide behind a "Screen name"

I'll give out just about any personal information someone wants besides my PIN number and Social Security Number.

And just curious... how do you know you are even monitoring your childs "Real" Myspace page?

I know kids that set up myspace pages so they can show their parents.... but then they have their "Real Myspace" page that is for them to do what they want when mom and dad aren't around, and their parents have no clue.
