I've been hearing about the increased potency issue for 20 years, and I've always been confused as to why the cops, media, and crusaders used the subject as a rallying point against legalization.
Back then, one of the big arguments against smoking weed was that smoking a joint was more unhealthy than smoking a pack of cigarettes. There was talk about the amount of tar and other things but no one had any data to support the statement, but let's say it was true!!! Most people smoke until they get the desired effect and then stop, so wouldn't greater potency = less smoking, therefore making use of the weed less unhealthy? In addition, there is no talk of price per ounce or whatever and if it were the same, wouldn't the cost per use go down dramatically which, in turn, would eat into the profits of the dealer because they wouldn't be selling as much?
So much talk on the subject lately...
