HPP Committee on PMAR welcomes Fred Blas
#1
For those of you who may not know, the General Membership of HPP has formed a committee to participate in and hopefully influence the planning of the Puna Makai Alternate Route. We are holding meetings and distributing a fact sheet and accompanying opinion survey to try to get a feel for how the HPP community wants us to deal with this important proposal. I am the chairman of the committee, and we meet the second Wednesday of every month at 4:45 p.m. in the Activity Center Library. Any and all HPP lot owners are welcome to attend and participate.

Councilman Fred Blas will be appearing at our next meeting on
April 13 to discuss PMAR and answer questions about it. Due to the HPP By-laws and the way the committee is set up, participation will be limited to HPP lot owners and the topic of PMAR. Councilman Blas is very approachable and quite willing to meet with Puna citizens, so those of you outside HPP or HPP residents with other issues to discuss should have no trouble finding opportunities to do so.

The HPP-PMAR fact sheet and survey are available at the HPPOA Office, the HPP Swap Meet, through Neighborhood Watch Block Captains, and at Neighborhood Watch meetings. We will soon have a secure on-line version on the HPP website for those who cannot pick up surveys in person.

PMAR has the potential to profoundly affect HPP and our quality of life, so please educate yourself and let us know how you want our community to approach it.
