A good site for infection help. It is an ad supported site so you must learn to look past the ads: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ . Just about all infections can be eliminated without a reformat. Many can be eliminated with just a few free tools. However, with some it is way easier to reformat than to dig out all of the infection. If you're paying someone to work on it, it is very often cheaper to opt for a reformat. I maintain about 20 computers and almost never reformat, although I have images of every computer's drive and a wipe and reimage doesn't take long. If you don't want to spend considerable time at a site such as listed above(there are several very good help sites), you need to have your computer looked at by a pro or at least an expert amateur. Your computer may have even been turned into a clone.
