Just to let you know how it all turned out: It took a month for Yama Roofing to get their proposal to me, but I liked the idea they would prime and paint the new wood as well as install the necessary new gutters and hook-up to the water catchment. They finally came through, scheduled a date, and came and did the work within a 4-day period (a little over a week ago). One interesting thing, they didn't know what a leaf-eater or a first-flush pipe was. But I persuaded them it was worth their time to read the instructions and install them so they would be prepared for the next client that wanted them. Then the mold clean-up and testing crews came and now I am only waiting for the lab results. The builder had anticipated building a second story: so we found an extra ceiling that had protected the interior of the house. What an adventure! Thanks for your suggestions. They helped a lot!
