Hawaiian Quilt Commission?
#1
My wife and I are interested in commissioning a Hawaiian quilt to be made for our home. We have been scouring the web for potentials and have found some that we are interested in. We won't purchase products from China due to prior adverse health reactions to their loose quality control standards (think Florida drywall), and before we send our money to the Phillipines I really wanted to check with Punawebbers and hopefully interact and support the community we are aspiring to be a part of one day. We have asked the few freinds we have on The Big Island if they know anyone with experience and there were no leads that produced any results. Currently we live in an Airstream travel trailer and the bed is a non-standard size so we are not able to purchase a standard size quilt to meet our needs.

We are hoping to end up with a 90"x90" red (prewashed!) ulu on white quilt.

Here's examples of the designs we are thinking about...

We don't have large sums of money for the project but are willing to compensate fairly for the efforts involved. Are there any quilters on Punaweb? Do you know someone who takes on quilt commissions? Can you point us in their direction? Thanks in advance for any help provided!
