Poisonous plant?
#14
There are so many plants in Hawaii that can cause severe skin reactions
one website we came across just covers a few.

http://great-hikes.com/blog/poisonous-pl...-paradise/

Our son-in-law who is born in Hilo and should have known better, cut the leaves of the elephant ear plant, (about 1 month ago) the sap fell on his arm and leg and caused a burning skin reaction. He washed it thoroughly and used benadryl, hydrocortisone cream and ice packs, researched the web tried different methods that were recommended, but the rash spread over his body and then started on his face, extremely painful. Finally went to the doctor, who gave him the prescription Methylprednisolone. Took a while, but itching and rash cleared up, unfortunately it has left scars on his arms and legs.
