Don't waste your $ on roundup. It won't kill the Waiwi. D-9s are no good either; they just bury it for awhile and it shoots up hundreds of suckers making a huge problem worse.
Garden Exchange can direct you to an effective herbicide that will work. Remedy or Redeem rings a bell. Can't remember right now.
We would cut the smaller ones and spot spray the stumps with a small hand squirter. Very surgical. The larger ones you can hack a few notches around the trunk with a machete and spray the notches.
This method will kill it. Be patient and tenacious.
If you leave the cuttings in a pile where they don't dry out, they will sprout too. Burn them or dry them well.
